Inspired by the 1930's streamliner design period, such as the New York state streamliner steam trains by Raymond Loewy, the Streamliner has a multi-faceted layered case with polished and chamfered edges, and diamond like carbon coating, that is engineered to fit together in a seamlessly.

MHD History

MHD Watches are designed in the UK by Automotive Designer Matthew Humphries, who at 21 was made the Chief designer at Morgan Motor Company. Matthew is best known for designing cars such as the stunning Morgan Aeromax, Morgan Aero Supersports and the Morgan 3 wheeler.

Established in 2014, MHD Watches are an independent British watch micro brand who produce limited edition motoring watches with an engineered design aesthetic, inspired by automotive design and engineering.

MHD are proud to only sell exclusively direct to you the customer, that puts the customer directly in touch with the watchmaker and takes out all the expensive middlemen.

All MHD watches have a 2 year warranty from date of purchase. If you should incur any issues with your MHD Watch, please get in contact by emailing info@matthewhumphriesdesign.com and we will be happy to discuss either a repair or replacement.

Plus, if you aren't 100% satisfied within 14 days of purchasing one of our watches, you can send it back to us for a full no quibble refund or exchange. All items must be returned in their original condition - unworn and undamaged.

THE BACKSTORY :

“Project 2021”. The Idea was to expose our design process with you and get your feedback to what you wanted from the next MHD watch.

We started with three design themes taking automotive influence from the 1930’s, 1950’s and 1970’s, which you can see below.

Inspired by the 1930's streamliner design period, such as Raymond Loewy products and vehicles (especially the trains) "The streamliner" is Limited in edition to 200 watches per colour way. Housed inside the 316L stainless steel case is the Japanese 26 Jewel Miyota 9132 automatic mechanical movement with power reserve, 24 hour sub dial and date window.

The initial sketch proposal shown below is where the design process started.
